Blog Week 3 Post 1
Toyota.com
The concept of the website was to advertise and sell Toyota
vehicles. Selecting the right Toyota vehicle and customizing your own depending
on your needs. They also have a section on the dealerships near your location. Quite
simple layout, plain, not too flashy colors. The colors consist of red, white,
and black for the coloring. The main picture advertises three Toyota vehicles. The
layout throughout the website are the same. The vehicle selection builds your
own vehicle are the same layout, with the small picture of the cars, and the
price listed on the bottom of the picture. Shopping tools page is designed with
a drop-down menu and you select what you are looking for. Find a dealer page is
just a zip code, once you add your zip code a map is shown based on the zip
code provided, the left side there is the information of the dealership. The
alignment of the page is clean and well organized. Everything is uniform from
the text to the pictures and the vehicle information for each car is well put
up. Main page promotes “Today's Deals.” The deals are important because it is something,
they the company is trying to promote and if they would like to shrink their
inventory. The page is easy to read, it is not clutter with importation,
pictures, and it the key point are shown. They have a selection of frequent asked
questions, they set up the website where customers can select certain questions
based of the vehicle they own. Overall, this website was well designed, its simple
and right to the point. Toyota seems like the company that they done need to
promote too much as far as a flashy website to get known.
Artcenter.org
This website is a government website. It is well thought out
not too much information but enough for the viewer to find information quick. With
a black and while color scheme it works. The pages of the website are the same
and uniform. They have the temple as a main picture across the page and then if
fades down as you scroll down, and the text is visible. The text alignment is well
with the left to right and not centered, it is easy to read. The only concern
and maybe needs to be improved is each event are advertised but the white test sometimes
is overbearing the it overflows and sometimes blocks the image. They have
social media they one can like and keep having updates for future events.
Jamilin.org
The concept of the website has six different themes. They have
information about, Feng Shui, Chakra, turkey neck less, youth duo reverse aging,
interior design/ house astrology, and galactic spirit. To fix this perhaps the designer
can have something generic and then go into different outlets as far as
service. The color is to bland the brown is not appealing, there is way too
many pictures and eyes that wonder all over the page. Each page is not consistent,
one page is not similar like the main page and then theirs other ones that the
picture and the logo is too big and taking over the website. The text is not aligned
it is set to center and its hard to read. Information is not uniform, their information
at the beginning of the page then you scroll down and off to the side theirs
more information and links. No logo or name of the website is shown a huge
banner on top is too much as far as packing with pictures and stuffing
information of the website in a small space. The type of text has different styles
and the colors do not match with the color scheme. No additional information
outside of the website, only a YouTube video or a discussion. This website is not professional, first impression
is that is a joke. More of less loud colors, like dark colors and some bright
colors can be used. The organization must be planned out; it was not here. The
designer must find a balance of pictures and text and information to make the
pages appealing and keep the viewer engaged.
MGBD Parts and Service Website
This website is set up to sell, trade, and repair of certain
type of vehicle for collectors. The page is too busy, cluttered in information.
The designer used two banners that white letters move across and is not
appealing. The left side of the page, they decided to put the cars and with the
text on top have it to be clicked for different pages of the website. The text
is not aligned, it is set as centered. It makes is hard to read with the
colors, different text and the text set up as centered. Each page is not the same
there is no repetition it is packed with pictures. Some text is underlined, and
it makes is seem that it is a link and your try to click, its misleading. The
search for parts it time consuming and needs to be more organized. They only
have a newsletter that you can type your email and they will email events and
special offers. They also have a Facebook account, that the viewer can be part
of.
I loved your insights on the MGBD Parts and Services website and I wrote about the Jamiliin website as well. Yikes! That one is a mess! I couldn't get off that site fast enough!
